The Notable Daily is a general news site built around celebrity and entertainment coverage. We report on public figures and the news that follows them, and we cover wider subjects as stories break. The site works as a place to follow a particular person and as a general daily read.
What we cover
Most of our reporting centers on public figures. That means profiles and biographies, along with the entertainment news around them and the background readers often have to hunt for elsewhere. We also cover general news on other subjects when a story is worth telling.
How we work
Celebrity coverage online has a rumor problem. A lot of what ranks is guesswork recycled from other guesswork, with no clear source behind any of it. We work the other way around. Every claim in a story has to trace back to a named, credible source before we publish. If we can’t confirm something, we leave it out or hold the story until we can. We don’t invent details, and we don’t dress up speculation as fact.
That makes us slower than sites that publish first and check afterward, and we’re fine with the trade.
Who’s behind it
The Notable Daily is led by Mary C. Green, a journalist and Stanford graduate with more than three years in the field. Mary started in local journalism, reporting for regional publications before she moved into full-time entertainment coverage. She works with a small team of editors and researchers who source and check each story before it goes live.
