Lola Consuelos’ boyfriend arranges brand partnerships in professional sports. This week, an unscripted moment of his own ended up online instead.
Cassius Kidston spent part of this week asleep on a beach beanbag, a shirt draped over his face, while his girlfriend, singer Lola Consuelos, photographed him and asked her followers a question instead of him: “Should I wake him up and ask him when he knew he liked me?”
It’s a small, ordinary moment. What makes it worth a second look is what Kidston does for a living. At Creative Artists Agency, arranging exactly this kind of thing, deliberately, for other people, is the job.

What Cassius Kidston actually does for work
Kidston works in athlete partnerships at CAA, the talent agency that represents clients across sports, film and music. His LinkedIn headline reads “Athlete Partnerships.” The formal title underneath it is “Sports Talent Partnership Sales.” Either way, the job comes down to the same thing: call a brand, call an athlete’s team, and put the two together in a way that reads as chemistry instead of a contract.
Kidston attended Harrow School, then studied sports management at New York University, graduating in 2022. He had already interned at the sports marketing firm GSE Worldwide in New York the year before. In 2023 he sold sponsorships to Formula E racing teams at a firm called 1440 Sports, then interned at CAA in early 2024 before joining full time in February 2025.
His name has been attached to a run of real, dated deals since:
- Ezri Konsa, the Aston Villa and England defender, and his ambassador deal with the hydration brand Ovrload
- Trevoh Chalobah, the England international defender, and his partnership with activewear brand Alo
- Robert Lewandowski, one of soccer’s most prolific goal scorers, and his deal with outerwear label Mackage
- Salvatore Ferragamo’s partnership with manager Josรฉ Mourinho, which Kidston, a self-described lifelong Chelsea supporter, called “especially memorable” to work on
The Kidston name was already known
His great-uncle, Glen Kidston, was one of the Bentley Boys, a circle of wealthy gentleman racers whose exploits made front-page news in the British papers of the late 1920s. He won the 1930 Le Mans 24 Hours co-driving a Bentley Speed Six with Woolf Barnato, then set a flight record from England to Cape Town in April 1931. A month later, his plane crashed in South Africa’s Drakensberg mountains and he died. Time magazine covered his death in a story headlined “British Tragedies.”
Home Kidston served on the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Kelly under Lord Mountbatten and survived when German bombers sank it off Crete in 1941. He was Cassius’s grandfather, and the ship’s sinking later inspired the Noรซl Coward film In Which We Serve.
His father, Simon Kidston, chose a different kind of visibility. He built one of the best known reputations in the classic car world by being trusted to keep his clients’ business private. His own company markets itself on selling cars “under the radar” whenever an owner wants it kept that way. The reputation is public even when the transactions are not.
Cassius is also a distant cousin of Cath Kidston, who built an entire consumer brand, and a public profile to go with it, on her own name and by her own design.
How Cassius Kidston met Lola Consuelos
Kidston and Consuelos met at New York University, where he was a year ahead of her. Consuelos, now 25 and the middle child of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, graduated in 2023 and has since built a career in London as a singer, releasing her debut EP, Sorry, It’s All About Me, in December 2025.
He first turned up on her Instagram in 2022, though she did not confirm the relationship publicly until 2023. Kidston works out of CAA’s UK office in London, the same city where Consuelos has built her music career. On his birthday this July, she wrote that “the invisible string theory is a real thing,” the idea that the two of them were always going to find each other.
They are not publicly engaged. Both families have spent holidays together, including Thanksgiving. Kidston’s parents have had dinner with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. Afterward, on Live with Kelly and Mark, Mark joked about his children’s taste in partners: “They have good pickers.”
Kelly Ripa described those parents, Simon and Rosie Kidston, this way on the same show:
“They are chic, they are British. Simon is the blonde James Bond, very suave. They are basically the opposite of us.”
Every other Kidston who made a name for himself, or herself, did it through something chosen: a race entered, a record attempted, a ship served on, a brand built under her own name. Cassius has not had that yet. In four years with a family that discusses its own life on national television every weekday, nearly everything the public has learned about him has come through somebody else’s account and somebody else’s words, mostly hers. The closest he has come to speaking for himself in public was eight words, typed underneath one of her posts: “To many more years together. I love you.” Most days, his job is arranging that same kind of moment for other people. His own has mostly been arranged for him.
