A fake movie poster has been circulating on Facebook this year. It shows Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren and Tom Selleck under a title called The Silent Murder, dated 2026. People are asking where to stream it. There is no such film. No studio made it, and nobody wrote a script for it.
It is not the only fake going around. A separate post claims the two actresses are starring in a new season of The Marlow Murder Club, a real mystery series on PBS’s Masterpiece that has never cast either of them. The interest behind both fakes is real. The movies are not. A Reddit thread exists purely to ask if people confuse Streep and Mirren for one another.
Here is the actual answer. Streep and Mirren have never worked on the same film, television show, or stage production. They have built decades of major careers running side by side, without ever actually crossing.

What Actually Connects Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren
The clearest link between the two goes back to 2007. Mirren won the Academy Award for Best Actress that year for playing Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen. Streep was nominated in the same category, for the original Devil Wears Prada, at the same ceremony, and lost to her.
Mirren has also said that Streep once told her she borrowed my hair while working out the look for Miranda Priestly, the magazine editor-in-chief at the center of The Devil Wears Prada. She has repeated the story in interviews more than once, and it is the closest thing to a working relationship either woman has described in public.
